Safeguarding Awareness
Programme Overview
This course delivers an understanding and awareness of safeguarding for anyone working with children or those who are responsible for the oversight of children.
The awareness day includes information about the signs and symptoms of child abuse and what to do if you suspect a child is being abused or harmed.
The course will deepen your knowledge of what safeguarding children means and how you can make positive contributions to the safeguarding process.
The day includes information sharing, activities and case studies around the four types of abuse as well as covering the statutory safeguarding topics as per Keeping Children Safe in Education. It will cover safeguarding legislation, staff allegations and contextualised issues.
This course is certificated and lasts for three years. Delegates will also have a knowledge checking activity to take back to their settings as evidence of their completion and understanding.
