PGCE, NLE, NPQEL, Specialist Leader (L3) Positive Regard

Cathy started her teaching career in inner city London primary schools before moving to Hertfordshire to take her first leadership position in 2001. Cathy was a Deputy Head and SENCo for ten years before taking the plunge into headship in 2013 and is now an Executive Head Teacher for Spiral Partnership Trust.

Whilst leading her own school Cathy has responsibilities for safeguarding and behaviour across the whole trust. Throughout her career she has chosen to work in schools with high proportions of hard to reach families and children who need to feel adults are on their side. Cathy has always been passionate about working in a relational way, but since reading “The Kindness Principle” and being introduced to Positive Regard, Cathy is eager to engage other professionals in this way of working so that the world our children are growing up in can be just a little bit kinder.
