Catrina Lowri is an experienced SENCO and Advisory Teacher and qualified SEND teacher. During her time working in mainstream settings Catrina worked as a middle manager on as a leader with her position as SENCO. She also worked in several special schools and a pupil referral unit supporting children with a wide variety of needs at both primary and secondary level. Through her current specialist work, she supports CYPs from hard to reach families who are at danger of exclusion, anxious non attenders or NEETS. Catrina uses her range of experience and training in relational practice to ensure settings are able to support these vulnerable learners to improve their outcomes and meet their aspirations.
She has a Master’s degree in Autism and specialises in behaviours of concern and exclusion reduction. Catrina is the founder of Neuroteachers; a specialist training, mentoring and coaching organisation who offer simple solution for inclusive practice. She works closely with the National Autistic Society’s training branch; the Autism Education trust. She supports educators of children in Early Years settings and schools to become more confident in making reasonable adjustments. As a neurodiverse teacher herself, Catrina understands the challenges of supporting SEND students, especially when trying to balance this with the needs neurotypical peers.
