Rebecca Barham

Positive Regard Consultant

PGCE, Advanced Team Teach Tutor, Theraplay Level 1 & group trained.

Rebecca’s passion for education was sparked when she delivered a project in a women’s prison as part of her Theatre and Performance degree. After graduating, she gained experience as a Teaching Assistant across a group of special schools in Leeds, supporting students with a wide range of SEND and SEMH needs.

Alongside this role, Rebecca was also part of a home-based team, delivering play and communication focused education on a 1:1 basis for a young person with non-verbal Autism. Over 13 years later, Rebecca still works with this family as part of the care team, supporting a young adult by providing respite.

Before joining the Positive Regard team, Rebecca worked in SEND recruitment, providing a high-quality partnership service to special schools, alternative provisions, virtual schools and PRU settings across Yorkshire.

Rebecca holds a PGCE in Primary Education, is a Team Teach tutor and she currently volunteers as a Governor for a 3-19 special school in Bradford.

Her interest in relational practice, high quality training and holistic support brought Rebecca to Positive Regard and she is pleased to be part of the service as it continues to grow.
