Programme Overview

Often our children will need help from adults to ‘co-regulate’ which often requires us to model control and regulation.This is better as deliberate, repeated practice until they learn the skills to ‘self-regulate’.

 
Course content

  • Discuss why children are struggling to emotionally regulate
  • Understand the effects that interruptions in a child’s physical development can have on their behaviour
  • Explore why children find it difficult to stay calm within the classroom
  • Understand how to stretch a child’s window of tolerance
  • Learn to manage resistance throughout play
  • How to implement therapeutic play techniques
Learn practical skills and activities to support both individuals and groups using play skills.
