I am the Care Team Leader at Laceyfield Academy which is a mainstream primary setting in Louth, Lincolnshire. I have 20 years experience working in primary and early years settings supporting young people from 6 weeks to 11 years old.
Special School Deputy Head Teacher, Licensed Thrive Practitioner, Advanced Team Teach Tutor
I’ve been in teaching for 18 years, having started in mainstream Secondary Education as a PE Teacher and then Head of PE in a Sports College. After 8 years I moved into Special Education and have worked in Secondary SEMHD, Secondary Generic Special and 2-19 Generic Special Schools, taking on roles such as Head of PE, Head of Maths, SEMH Lead, SLT member and Deputy Head Teacher. I have always built my teaching on sound and productive relationships with pupils and am fully committed and wholeheartedly believe in a relational approach to maximise the life chances of young people.. Like everyone, I have made mistakes along the way and have learnt very much from them. Whilst in Special Education, have embarked upon a journey of research and learning in a wide number of areas. I have a specific passion for child development, a relational approach, trauma informed practices and the impact of ACES, having used these to implement systemic change over the last 3 years, in the special school in which I am currently Deputy Head. I am very committed to work outside of my current setting and spreading the message of why some children are special and the approaches required to make them feel accepted and safe in our often large organisations, whilst maximising their potential, both academically and emotionally.
Pupil and Support Manager in a mainstream primary school. Trained in ELSA, Drawing and Talking, Lego Therapy, Counselling skills, Relax Kids and Solihul Approach trained. Safeguarding Lead. Degree in Education and a Level 3 in Childcare and Education. Attachment and Trauma Sensitive School Gold Award.
My name is Helen Webb and I am a Pupil and Family Support manager at a mainstream primary school in Burnley. My career journey started in a nursery setting, onto a primary setting as a TA; during this time I had my daughter and completed a degree in Education. I also had my son and then shortly after I moved on to becoming a Pupil and Family Support Lead where I am now, then I became a manager. My role is what it says on the tin… supporting pupils and their families. I have been given so many opportunities to be able to support children emotionally through ELSA, Drawing and Talking therapy, Lego Therapy, counselling, Relax Kids which are carried out within groups or 1:1. I also supported my school through their journey of becoming a Gold Award Attachment and Trauma Sensitive school which enables us to be able to support our most vulnerable children but also during the most recent of traumas that all of us are facing during this pandemic. Well being, like most, is the priority in our school. Well being leads to well doing. I am also a Solihull approach trainer enabling me to support families further.
Team Teach, Restorative practice, Trauma informed Practice, Risk assessments.
I am an assistant principal responsible for behaviour in an SEMH setting. Previously I was the Care Team Leader at Springwell Leeds Academy – South. During my time as Care Team Leader I have embedded restorative practice and trauma informed practice. I worked with my team to improve and develop our understanding and use of individual pupil risk assessments. I am also an Advance Team Teach instructor running in house courses for new started and staff refresher courses.
Social Conduct ATA (SEN provision), Team-Teach tutor.
I am based at Springwater School in Starbeck which is an SEN provision for children 3-16 with a post 16 provision. I have previously worked at The Forest School, based in North Yorkshire. An SEN setting with a broad range of children who can express themselves with behaviour that challenges. My role required formulating PIP’s (Positive Intervention Plans) with class teams, developing & leading in-house training, providing day-to-day support with children displaying distressing behaviours and conducting PIL (Post Incident Learning). I like to think of myself as a caring, bubbly, social individual. My family share a love for motor-cross biking, and this is something that takes up many of our weekends. ‘Do not give up, the beginning is always the hardest.’
